A nice, classic look that I’ve always liked is crisp hotel bedding in a bedroom. It’s simple, clean, and timeless to me. Pottery Barn has a beautifully embroidered hotel bedding inspired collection called the Liza. It has a thread count of 280. The duvet cover and shams are shown below in gray mist.
The cost for a queen duvet with special pricing is $129. The cost for a single standard sham is $34 with special pricing. If you want to get really fancy, you can have each piece monogrammed for $8.50 per sham and $8.50 for the duvet (as shown below).
So $197 (before tax and shipping) for a queen duvet and 2 standard shams or $222.50 (before tax and shipping) total for all 3 pieces with monogramming. That’s a little high to me, but the Liza bedding is beautiful! Target has a comparable set and it’s on clearance for $63. The Fieldcrest Luxury Embroidered Hotel Duvet Cover Set in white and silver has a thread count of 300 and includes 2 shams in the set. So, 3 pieces for only $63!
The embroidered pattern and color are very similar to Pottery Barn’s Liza. You could also add monogramming to this set to make it look a little more fancy. Jo-Ann sells dyeable monogram script and iron on monogram letters. Etsy has many iron on monogram lettering choices like this and this. A former college classmate of mine does embroidery and monogramming via her facebook page, Beau & Bows Boutique. So even if you spent $40 at the most on monogramming, you would still save more than 50% by choosing the more budget friendly Target option.
