With all the space that our new home provides, there’s still something missing…a place to store jackets and shoes. There’s no coat closet or mud room, so I needed an affordable solution to store/hide shoes, jackets, and bags when we come home. Luckily, when we went to Value City Furniture to pick up our sectional, we found this cute, functional piece:
It fits perfectly on the wall between the door going to the garage and the door to the Powder Bath.
We added a small coat rack that we had from our 1st home (originally from TJ Maxx), framed art from Ross, a wooden cross from Hobby Lobby (bought with a 40% off coupon) that I painted, and a couple pillows (one that I made on Shutterfly).
When you open the hinged top, there are slots made to hold at least 8 pairs of shoes, as well as space for bags.
This space-saving piece conceals everything that we need to put on right before leaving through the garage or front door. The kids can sit right on top to be helped with putting on shoes. It also serves as a great place to drop bags off when going in and out of the garage. Nice look, great function and size, and not bad on the pockets!
